A Trip to Madain Saleh in 1974. By car from Jeddah to Beirut via Petra in 1974 with an unscheduled stay in Haql on the return journey. Four go to Spain in a mini and other holidays in the 1960s.
One can only really travel if one lets oneself go and takes what every place brings without trying to turn it into a healthy private pattern of one's own and I suppose that is the difference between travel and tourism.
Good to hear from you Abdullah, unfortunately we didn’t take any photos while we were in Haql as it was an unscheduled stop and it wasn’t particularly enjoyable under the circumstances! Also we had been told that taking photographs was forbidden and of course it was before mobile phones and digital cameras. I think you have more freedom now because of the internet.
